- From Message to The Mother Church for 1901 by Mary Baker Eddy:
"To my sense the Sermon on the Mount, read each Sunday without comment and
obeyed throughout the week, would be enough for Christian practice."
Following on this thought, everyone is invited to assemble in our Reading
Room on the first Monday of the month at 1:00 p.m.
for a reading
of the Sermon on the Mount. The next
session (on October 7) will include reading of the Sermon from
the Amplified Bible. If you have a copy, please bring it with you. (updated

- Sentinel Watch: Tackling the
Underlying Threat to Democracy
This Sentinel Watch features
Mark Sappenfeld, Editor of The Christian Science
Monitor. Here is a description: "There are signs of deep
political divisions around the world. Many have polarized into camps in
which each side is convinced it is right and is unwilling to listen to the
other. What's the remedy? [Mark Sappenfield has] been thinking and praying a
lot about this. He shares what he feels is one of the key underlying issues
in this divide, and how we might pray about it, too." Deb notes that
much of Mark's presentation refers to the Sermon on
the Mount. Click the following to access a page with a link to
this presentation:

- Hymn sing plan
Our after-church
hymn sings will be held only on the first
Sunday of even-numbered
months. Accordingly, the next hymn sing will be
after church on December 1. Of course, the focus will be on
Christmas hymns and carols. The
second-Sunday plan will remain, alternating between gathering in the
Sunday School and going out for lunch. (updated 10/6/24)
- The Sermon on the Mount at The Mother
Church's Reading

time), anyone can access, by Zoom, a reading of the Sermon on the Mount at
The Mother Church's Reading Room.

Press-Tribune's "Community Worship Services" section, along
with similar sections in the
Rocklin Placer Herald and the Loomis News. For most
of that time, the content of the ad has changed very little.
For the month of October, our ad will
highlight Sunday School.
